The US military evacuated American government personnel from Khartoum, as President Joe Biden announced the suspension of operations at the US embassy due to continued fighting between Sudan's rival commanders. Biden called the violence, which has claimed hundreds of civilian lives, "unconscionable" and demanded an end to it. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirmed the safe evacuation of all US personnel and their dependents. Just over 100 US special operations forces carried out the operation without encountering fire from warring factions. Other foreign nationals have begun evacuating from Sudan as well.

Anyone have more information on the evacuation? Was it performed by Marines, perhaps Army Rangers, what special forces were involved, etc.
The Sudan crisis is dangerous beyond the borders. According to NPR, the medical and hospital system is close to collapse due to the volume of acute critical care needs forcing chronic care patients back into homes which often have been destroyed.
Additionally the Russian Wagner Group have forces aiding Hemedti and his RSF militia.
